Launched in early 2026, the new RSL DTL 8A badminton shuttlecock has been developed to enable training and playing with the feel of a real shuttlecock, but at a lower price. The innovatively manufactured shuttlecock, with only 8 feathers, is durable and has a stable flight path. The package contains 12 shuttlecocks.

Genuine shuttlecocks are made from real goose and duck feathers (16 feathers per shuttlecock). There are differences in the materials used for the feathers and shafts of shuttlecocks.

Conditions affect the durability and flight path of the shuttlecock (hot, cold, humid, dry air). The speed of a genuine shuttlecock is indicated by numbers (depending on the weight of the shuttlecock). The most common speed used in Finland is 78, while a slower shuttlecock speed is 77 (hot, humid air). The balls will remain in good condition for a few months under normal room conditions. The best place to store the balls is in a humid environment.
